Leeds College of Music – The Library

Posted on Saturday, July 15th, 2017

We are delighted to have been working alongside Triton Construction Ltd on the relocation of the new library.

Leeds College of Music moved their library from the fifth floor of their main building to just around the corner and have revamped it in the ground floor of the Skyline Apartment Building, on St Peter’s Street, opposite the bus station.

The new library incorporates staff facilities, rolling racking, and the construction of a new entrance pod and a mezzanine unit at first floor level.

Our electrical and mechanical works included LV distribution & switchgear, power installation, internal, external & emergency lighting, lighting controls, induction loops & disabled facilities, data/LAN systems, fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, ventilation, air conditioning, hot & cold pipework, water treatment, thermal insulation, acoustic control, BMS, AGD & sanitary ware.

Leeds College of Music is a music conservatoire based in the Quarry Hill district of Leeds, it was founded in 1965 by Joseph Stones. LCoM is the only conservatoire in the UK to offer both higher and further education courses.  They provide music education to a community of over 1900 musicians through a variety of programmes, including undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, numerous short courses and junior LCoM for those aged 9-18.

We started work in February 2017 and completed our works July 2017.
