MARKET HILL, SCUNTHORPE – FILTRATION WORKS

Posted on Friday, February 10th, 2017

We are pleased to have completed our works for United Living to carry out the filtration works at Market Hill, Scunthorpe.

Market Hill Housing Complex comprises of three 19-storey high rise housing blocks and a number of low rise maisonette blocks.

The site operator ONGO homes wished to replace the existing gas boilers which were at the end of their useful life with new gas boilers and to install Heater Interface Units (HIU) within each residence, in line with Article 9 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED).

Prior to any boiler replacement works, new filtration equipment was to be installed in the primary and secondary heating systems. The heating system then required a chemical power flushing.

Our Works consisted of the installation of inline filters on the pipe work in the primary heating system.

The installation of inline filters on the pipe work in the secondary systems in the tower blocks as seen below with our engineer Ricky who is our mechanical project engineer and led the team at Scunthorpe.

Our expertise in chemical flushing of all the heating circuits within the network and the installation of a permanent ‘sidestream’ filtration system in the primary heating system was highlighted on this challenging project.

We began on site last September and work has just recently been completed.
